Fearless in Sickness - Day 14

Scripture Reading: Isaiah 41:8-13

Reflection
This text contains a multitude of promises, each of which should give us hope in fearful circumstances. God has chosen us in love. He will not cast us off. He will strengthen us. He will put our enemies to shame. He will help us. We will rejoice in the Lord.

What is especially striking, though, is that it is not merely that Israel will be delivered. She will be made mighty. Even in the midst of her distress, God says that He is working to make her a tool before which hills and mountains will melt away.

God will sustain us through our troubles, but He is doing more than that. He is working to make us mighty. We are to walk through such seasons boldly, knowing that He is moving. Through Him we can overcome the world because in Jesus Christ, God already has.

A Prayer for the Nations
Father,
We pray that this hard season would not be one of mere survival. Yes, we ask for protection and provision, but more than that, we ask You to bring victory. Advance Your mission. Show forth Your truth. Send out the good news of the gospel to every corner of the earth and soften the hearts that receive it and gather to yourself a people of every tribe and tongue and nation who are proclaiming Your praise. You are able to do this and more, so we ask it in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
AMEN
